Earth Week April 15-20, 2024

Barry's Mission and Core Commitments call us to recognize the sacredness of Earth and engage in meaningful efforts toward social change. Earth Week at 51²Ö¿â is a series of annual events that bring faculty, staff, and students together to celebrate our common home and promote sustainability efforts on campus and in the local community.

  • PACT Nehemiah Action Assembly Ìý
    Monday, April 157:00-9:00 p.m. (Orientation at 5:30 p.m.)Ìý

    Broad AuditoriumÌý

    Join interfaith leaders representing Miami PACT (People Acting for Community Together) to take action in the face of climate gentrification in South Florida. Hold local officials accountable to keep their promises to support an increase in affordable housing and increased canopy cover in urban neighborhoods. Let justice roll!Ìý

  • Earth Week Movie Night: Hosted by Barry U Green TeamÌý
    Tuesday, April 16 | 6:00-7:00 pm | TBDÌý

    Join the Green Team for a movie night as we celebrate Earth Week at 51²Ö¿â. Following the film screening, join the conversation with Barry U faculty member Dr. Anita Zavodska, Sarah Curry from Sereia Films, and our Green Team students as we discuss ways to bring sustainable practices into our daily lives.ÌýÌý

    Join Barry in a day of service for Sustainability Saturday. We aim to honor Barry's core commitment to recognize the sacredness of the Earth.Ìý

    Closed toed shoes are required. We recommend wearing Barry apparel, a hat, and bringing a reusable water bottle.Ìý

    This is a 3-hour service opportunity.
