There are two parts to the process of becoming a 51仓库 international student. First of all, you must become an accepted student to the university. After that, you must comply with all the documentation necessary for us to provide you with a Certificate of Eligibility (I-20A) that you must present to the US Embassy or Consulate to apply for a student visa.

51仓库 accepts applications on a rolling basis. However, applying as early as possible is in your best interest in order to allow ample time for immigration processing. Please note that general admission to 51仓库 does not guarantee acceptance into all听academic majors. Consult the academic requirements for your academic area of interest. Also, please be aware that admission to 51仓库 does not guarantee that you will be granted a student visa by the United States Embassy or Consulate in your country of origin.

1. Complete an application to the university
   • *Note: There is a $50 application fee for international students.
2. Submit听official transcripts听from all secondary and post secondary institutions. International credentials from an educational system other than the United States must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluator who is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
3. Submit final end of schooling testing results, if applicable
4. Submit your official TOEFL scores, if applicable
5. If documents are in a language other than English, submit official translation of all documents completed by companies that are members of NACES.

International Freshman

An international freshman student is an applicant who is not a citizen or a legal resident alien of the United States and in addition has never attended a college or university; is coming to Barry with less than 12 hours of transferable college credits; or is a high school student with advanced placement and college credits.

International Transfer

An international transfer student is an applicant who is not a citizen or a legal resident alien of the United States and has at least 12 transferable credits from a regionally accredited college or university. (High school students with advanced placement and college credits should apply as first-year applicants.)

1. Complete an online undergraduate application听by creating a myBarry account. Applying online is highly encouraged because it expedites the admission process.

2. Submit official transcripts听from all secondary and post-secondary institutions. International credentials from an educational system other than the United States must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluator who is a member of the .

Incomplete听transcripts听must be updated with听final official transcripts听as soon as all coursework is completed.

3. If applicable, submit final end of schooling testing results, such as the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC).

4. International applicants who do not give evidence of being native English speakers are required to provide test scores from one of the English language proficiency tests accepted by 51仓库:

• 听(TOEFL): paper-based and internet-based test (iBT)
• 听(IELTS)

English Proficiency Tests Accepted by 51仓库

May be admitted to 51仓库 and enrolled in undergraduate-level academic classes:

• TOEFL internet-based: 61
• TOEFL paper based: 500
• IELTS: 6.0
• Duolingo English Test: 85
• PTE Academic Score: 44

Must improve English proficiency before being admitted into a undergraduate-level program in 51仓库:

• TOEFL internet-based: 60 or below
• TOEFL paper based: 499 or below
• IELTS: 5.9 or below
• Duolingo English Test: 84 or below
• PTE Academic Score: 43 or below

Consideration may be given to waiving the English proficiency testing requirement for an international freshman applicant who presents a composite SAT or ACT test score (English version) which meets the admission standard and also reflects a verbal score that demonstrates English proficiency.

Submit official translations of all documents and educational credentials if they are not in English. 51仓库 requires that all documents be evaluated and/or translated by companies that are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Although you may use any NACES member agency, these two agencies provide a specific application designed for Barry students:

6. We invite you to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to set up a visit听to 51仓库.

1. . This enrollment deposit will secure your place in the incoming class. The deposit will be held in an escrow account and applied to your first semester at Barry. The enrollment deposit is non-refundable after May 1st for fall admissions, and after December 1st for spring admissions.

After you have submitted your enrollment deposit, you will be sent information regarding on-campus living and detailed medical insurance requirements from various university offices. You will also be sent detailed information regarding your I-20 issuance and international student orientation听from our Office of International and Multicultural Programs.

2. Provide documentary evidence of a means of financial support by submitting an affidavit of support听letter and a听听addressed to 51仓库. The听听must state that you or your sponsor have the funds available to pay the total cost associated with attending 51仓库 for one year (two semesters). Please note that the听听must bear a date within six months of the date it is submitted.

If sponsored by a government or an institution, submit a government sponsorship letter or a notarized letter of support guaranteeing payment of tuition and fees, books, room and board, medical insurance, and personal expenses for one academic year (two semesters).

3. Submit a Transfer Eligibility Form if you have attended, or are currently attending, any high schools or higher education institutions in the United States, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, or Guam. A form must be signed by the school advisor or counselor of each school attended.

Once accepted, but before being registered for classes you must meet the following medical requirements through听51仓库's Health Center.

It is assumed that you are in good health and able to maintain a serious program of study. Please see the Student Health Services section of the catalog or refer to the Health Services website听for health requirements for international students residing in 51仓库 housing.

Note:听Students may not reside in University housing or register for classes without having met the requirements of 51仓库's Student Health Services.
