The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of 51仓库. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of 51仓库 and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

No transfer from another Podiatric Medicine school into the first or second year of BUSPM is permitted. Students who enroll in the BUSPM and who have completed an analogous graduate-level course at another institution may qualify to transfer those credits to BUSPM. However, curricula, course requirements, and grading policies vary among courses taught by different instructors in different 51仓库 schools and/or different institutions. Consequently, a grade of A or B in a course completed in another department or at another institution does not automatically guarantee or entitle the student to receive credit for the same subject in BUSPM. All requests for transfer credit must be submitted in writing to the Associate Academic Dean before matriculating into the program.听

To request credit for a BUSPM course, a student must:听

Present official documentation (syllabi, official transcripts) from the previous institution that he/she obtained a grade of B or higher in the course. The Associate Academic Dean will consult with the relevant BUSPM course instructor(s) as to the equivalency of the completed course(s) based on syllabi and other resources (for example, information obtained from the previous instructor and/or department/school). The BUSPM instructor will determine the equivalence of the previous course to the one given at BUSPM and inform the Associate Academic Dean of his/her decision. The final determination of the equivalence of the two courses rests with the BUSPM course instructor.听

If equivalency is determined to exist, the Associate Academic Dean will inform the student and the BU registrar regarding the assigning of credit and waiving further attendance of classes and taking of tests and quizzes in the course. Transfer coursework will not be used to compute the BUSPM GPA of the student.听

If equivalency is determined not to exist, students are strongly recommended to take the BUSPM course in its entirety and fulfill all requirements for successful completion of that course.听

However, students can take a Comprehensive examination(s) in the course(s) administered by the BUSPM instructor(s) for the course(s) in question. Students must take the Comprehensive examinations within the first three days of the start of the semester in which the course(s) in question is (are) taught.听

A student who takes the Comprehensive examination and achieves a score of 80.0% or more will receive full credit for the course. A grade of CR will be registered on the student record.听
A student who takes the Comprehensive examination and achieves a score of less than 80.0% will take the BUSPM course in its entirety and fulfill all requirements for successful completion of that course.听
